Summer 2020

Amidst a year of abundant health information, Romina was invited again to write for Caduceus, the flagship publication of the Medical Division of the American Translators Association, by it dedicated editor, Maria Baker. Romina gave translators an overview of the increasing need for plain language summaries of medical research.

Plain Language Summaries of Clinical Trials

One silver lining of a Covid year: it brought about professional collaboration! Our President and CEO is actively participating in the ISO TC 37 Plain Language Standards development. Despite not being able to meet in Bangor, UK this June, the group made great strides through virtual meetings!

Romina also represented SEA in the founding of RedACTE, the International Alliance of Spanish Editing Associations. She currently serves as the Liaison or the collective and leads the SEA committee for the Laboratorio RedACTE-Fundéu.

Spring 2020

A wonderful review in the Translorial by Julie Anderson of my session at the NCTA‘s meeting last december! In the article “A Taste of the ATA Conference”, Anderson expertly covers my presentation about Artificial Intelligence and the role of the translator, and those by Judit Marin and and Tuomas Kostiainen‘s. Judit talked about interpreting about chemical dependency and Tuomas covered tricks of SDL Trados Studio.
